Understanding Plantar Fasciitis and How to Cure it
What is Plantar Fasciitis?
The plantar fascia is a supportive band of tough inelastic fibrous tissue connecting the heel bone (calcaneus) and toes (metatarsals). Plantar means underneath and Fasciitis is the inflammation of the tissue surrounding the fascia.
Being inelastic means precisely that, it does not stretch. Fascia is strong, sinuous tissue, it is not a ligament, tendon or muscle.
Plantar fascia pain is caused by micro-fibre tears in the fascia. Plantar Fasciitis has long been one of the most misunderstood and poorly treated foot ailments in medical history. Current medical opinion promotes lifestyle factors such as age, weight, exercise, excessive time on feet, poor footwear, hard surfaces and bare feet as the cause. These are NOT the cause of Plantar Fasciitis. At most, they are contributing factors to an existing root source.
What Causes Plantar Fasciitis?
International research shows 9%-10% of adults in Western society will at some time suffer from Plantar fasciitis. Which creates a question: If the remaining 90% have similar lifestyles “Why don’t they have this ailment?”. After years of research and 100’s of cases, we identified the reason why.
Our specialist bio-mechanists discovered that in 90% of cases (mild, acute or chronic), the source of stress on the plantar fascia proved to be a deviation inward of the Calcaneus (heel bone) on initial ground strike. As the heel rolls in (pronating), joints in the foot structure unlock, reducing the arch’s ability to fully support bodyweight. Over time, this creates excessive load on the plantar fascia, causing inflammation and resulting in microfibre tears (Plantar Fasciitis).
Rolling feet over ice bottles or cans
Calf muscle step stretches
Massaging the arch
Arch support orthotics
Pulling toes back
Soft flexible shoes
Shockwave therapy
Heat
Cortisone injections
The second step is to commence our Daily Routine Program. This program addresses all aspects of the time you spend on your feet such as; morning pain, exercises, workplace and lifestyle factors and the “do’s and don’ts” of managing Plantar fasciitis.
The third step is to directly address the cause of plantar fasciitis and not just treat the symptoms. For over 20 years in four specialist clinics we successfully treated 10,000+ cases of mild, acute and chronic Plantar fasciitis.
Once it was identified that in over 90% of cases heel deviation (see what causes plantar fasciitis above) is the source of Plantar Fasciitis , we developed and engineered a new technique for prescription insoles, creating the Inverted Calcaneus Device (ICD), or “Kraedl”.
Instead of lifting the arch, the Kraedl ICD insoles control excessive heel pronation (rolling in) reducing strain on the Plantar Fascia and allowing it to heal. Control is achieved with a unique, clinically proven parabolic curve on the inner side of the heel cup.
Combining the Kraedl ICD Insoles with our Self-Managed Daily Routine Program we have created our unique “Kraedl Treatment Program”.
The Kraedl Treatment Program is designed to provide a permanent cure. It is not a quick fix and it can take some time for the fibres to repair as fascia is not ligament, tendon or muscle and does not respond to standard soft tissue treatments.
If not treated correctly Plantar fasciitis can last for months or even years. With our help you can now Self-Manage this frustrating ailment for less than the fees of a medical appointment.
Included is our 90-Day Refund Guarantee (See FAQs).
The Kraedl Treatment Program is available Australia wide, exclusive to Plantar Fasciitis Online.
